My Story
Hi there, my name is Amy, mother of two teens! As I am trying to navigate this rodeo, barrel racing scene with my now teen daughter, I am finding that some of the short-term challenges I had, have now turned into memorable moments in merely chatting it up with my teen in the truck, trailering our 1200-pound beast. I never would have thought in a million years, that I would be forced into this horse world not knowing a darn thing, trailering and trying to make it all work with a TEENAGER! I wouldn’t change a thing, my love for continuing to learn more about this horse world has drawn my daughter and I closer. With an extensive career in education ranging from teaching in the classroom from the preschool age to students in higher education, to being a former owner of a preschool business, you’d think I’m an expert in parenting. But I am just like everyone else, I too find the challenges and daily struggles in parenting while balancing home life, family/friends, and career, and somehow manage to take care of myself. However, taking some of the skill set from what I DO know about how children think, develop, and communicate makes me confident in doing what works best for me. I’d like to share some of this with you. Let’s take this journey together.
